guitar fx tutorial, guitar effects

When I started playing guitar about 25 years ago, like most beginners, I didn’t know much about guitar effects, in fact, I lived in a small country town and the nearest guitar shop was about an hour drive away. There was no such thing as the Internet either so there were few resources that one could glean good information about such a specialized topic.

On the few occasions where I had the chance to visit the music store I used to marvel at all the wonderful effects pedal with all their glorious controls and knobs yet I didn’t really have a clue what any of them did.  What pedal did I need? What sounds were possible with each of them? How do I plug them in? What the hell does Flanger mean anyway?

Well, I’ve gained an enormous wealth of knowledge over the years and have owned and programmed literally hundreds of effects devices in that time, many of them incredibly complex and sophisticated, and this DVD is about sharing that knowledge so that beginners can get a jumpstart when starting down the same road that I ventured all those years ago.

Running at close to 4 hours, this Dual Layer DVD is intuitively broken down in to specific FX categories and discusses not only a little history of each effect but what each parameter does with practical examples of how to get great sounds.
